Orignally developed in 1961 and released in 1974, this high alpha acid hop grew in popularity for its potent flavors and adaptability to grow in the Yakima Valley. It fell out of popular use in the 1980s, due to the rise of super alpha acid hops, but Comet is recently making a comeback in the brewing community. Its great as a dual purpose hop, lending its unique “Wild American” aroma to your batch.
